7. The circle model as a pinboard

The Circle Model as a Pinboard makes the leadership and organisational structure visible at a glance. It shows all the circles, their roles, their members and the connections between the circles. As staff members are often active in several circles, these multiple affiliations are also made transparent. It provides guidance and fosters a shared understanding of how the organisation actually operates. Rather than an idealised target structure, it deliberately reflects the current state of affairs and thus serves as a basis for reflection and the organisation’s ongoing development.

The board should be displayed in a central location visible to all and updated regularly. It documents only the collaboration that actually takes place and evolves alongside the organisation. Historical versions and supplementary information – such as circle constitutions – can be documented digitally.
