The diagram ‘Continuous learning support’ illustrates how sustainable learning takes place: theory, practice and practical application are continuously interwoven. The aim is not only to build up knowledge, but also to firmly embed new skills in everyday working life.
The learning process begins with individual preparation and is consolidated in workshops through brief theoretical input, practical exercises and reflection. Participants then apply what they have learnt directly to their day-to-day work. Learning partnerships support this process through mutual observation and constructive feedback. The experiences gained are incorporated into the next learning module and form the basis for further learning. This approach is particularly well-suited to change processes and the development of a self-organised way of working. Key factors for success include sufficient time for learning, small practical steps, a culture of mutual feedback, and an environment in which experimentation and mistakes are explicitly welcomed as part of the learning process.
