The Single Connector is a streamlined alternative to the Double Connector. Instead of two people, a single person links two circles. They are a full member of both circles, take on the role of coordinator and ensure the flow of information. The major advantage lies in the reduced workload. At the same time, the Single Connector facilitates connections – both between upper and lower circles and between other circles within the organisation. This is offset by greater demands on the person acting as the connector. They must balance the interests of both circles and manage potential conflicts of interest. As only one person forms the link, the model is also less robust than the double connector. The Single Connector is particularly suitable for trusting and cooperative organisations where conflicts are addressed openly and efficiency is a priority. If, on the other hand, there is a high risk of conflicts of interest or a clear separation of perspectives is required, the dual connector offers greater security.
